At this workshop, learn tools, resources, and actions that support sustainability in your studio and get advice for building a holistic culture of sustainability in your creative work. Wo Schiffman has researched methods for sustainable art practices over the past 25 years, interviewing artists in the US, Europe, and Asia. In addition, her work with manufacturers of paint mediums and substrates offers additional “green” resources to artists in their own practices.

Trained in oil, ink, and encaustic, Wo Schiffman works primarily on wood, canvas, and paper. As the daughter of NASA Scientists, her education explored not only art but questions in Physics and Philosophy. Wo holds a BA in Philosophy (summa cum laude) JCU, with concentrated atelier art study in Scandinavia and the US including the Art Students League of NY, Cleveland Institute of Art, and SF State University. Her inspiration is drawn from sailing and land travel in natural environments across six continents. Wo’s work is currently being exhibited in the Venice Biennale.
